Posted

As part of our job seeker series, we’re here to answer the question, what is a fabricator? Let’s delve into this unique position to help you decide if it is right for you.

  1. The Basics

Fabricators are responsible for manufacturing products from raw materials. Fabricators use blueprints and read instructions to plan their work and have a deep understanding of assembly. Verifying dimensions, fabricators must be detailed oriented, making sure each product meets the specifications. In addition, fabricators must be able to operate heavy machinery. Furthermore, a fabricator may also weld, cut, assemble, or bend parts, often working with metal.

     2. Quality Assurance Is Key

Secondly, quality assurance is part of the role as fabricators check products for functionality and any defects. Stress tests, record maintenance, and recall checks help a fabricator ensure that everything meets the standard. This requires detailed evaluation and a thorough knowledge of any updates to the product.

     3. Communication Is a Plus

Fabricators are required to communicate with management and customers. Communication is centered around the product and if it is meeting the standards of the company and the client. Being a team player is important as a fabricator must be able to explain issues and improvements with professionalism and patience.

     4. What Experience Level is Needed?
